We mean not just a regime and balancing your eating habits because excess of calcium, salt, sugar, animal protein, oxalate and uric acid favor the formation of stones.

Calcium intake

Calcium is obtained in the body mainly through the water and dairy products you drink. We don`t need nor too much calcium, nor too little. The amount of calcium should be between 800 mg and 1 g per day. It is recommended to take 2 to 3 servings of dairy, depending on the amount of calcium in your water (see its label), taking into account that the amount of calcium is approximately equal to:

1 cup milk = 1 yogurt = 100 g white cheese

First, calculate and then select:

If you drink 2 liters of water low in calcium (less than 20 mg / l), you should consume 800 mg of calcium in the form of dairy products.

If you drink 2 liters of water rich in calcium (more than 400 mg / l), you should reduce the consumption of calcium as dairy products.

Salt intake

An excess of salt in the diet increases the excretion of sodium in urine, which in turn helps to increase expression and calcium in it. You should limit your intake of salty food (sausages, fast food, and semi-manufactured goods) and you should not go overboard with adding salt while eating.

Intake of animal proteins

The animal proteins come from meat, fish, sausages and poultry, as 100 grams of meat meet the 100 g fish. They are important for the proper functioning of the body but not be eaten more than 150 grams of meat or fish daily. For easier monitoring your regime, it is better to follow the rule not to take more than one feeding with animal protein daily.

Taking oxalates

Foods rich in oxalates should be consumed sparingly – especially chocolate and cocoa. Also – peanuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, almond, asparagus, beets, rhubarb, spinach, sorrel, tea, figs, such as Vitamin C in large amounts (tablets of 500 mg to 1 g) is also not recommended, as they are products rich in oxalates.

Uric acid

You should limit the intake of foods that contribute to the formation of uric acid – sausages, offal (brain, kidney, liver), poultry, some fish (herring, tuna, trout, sardine in oil, anchovies) and seafood. Consume fruits and vegetables regularly.
